Renting a Sauna for Your Whistler Cabin or Airbnb: What to Know First

A mobile sauna can turn any Whistler cabin into a spa weekend. Here's what to sort out before you book.

The barrel sauna delivered and set up beside a house, with the cold plunge tub on the lawn

Most Whistler rentals don't come with a private sauna. A mobile sauna rental fixes that: a wood-fired barrel sauna and cold plunge, delivered to where you're staying. Here's what to check first so delivery day goes smoothly.

1. Get your host's permission

If you don't own the place, ask the owner or property manager before you book. Tell them it's a wood-fired sauna on a trailer with a cold plunge tub, how long it'll be there, and that it's set up and taken away for you. Strata properties and condo complexes often have their own rules, so ask early.

2. Find the spot

The sauna needs a place to park and set up near where you're staying. When you send your booking request, describe the spot: driveway, yard, parking area, how the access looks, and any photos you can share. Glenn reviews every request and confirms whether the spot works before your booking is locked in. If you're unsure, ask in your request.

3. Think about the cold plunge

The cold plunge tub comes empty, so check whether there's a hose or water source nearby. In winter, a snowbank works nicely between rounds too.

4. Know what's included

  • A private 24-hour session for $325, or a full week for $1,500
  • Delivery and setup in Whistler, Squamish or Pemberton
  • Firewood and a cold plunge tub
  • Room for 8 people comfortably

Add-ons include towel & robe kits ($45 per person), sauna hats ($5), a fire pit ($20), a tent ($20), an essential oil setup ($15) and extra firewood ($15 a bundle).

5. Respect the neighbours and the land

Keep the fire contained, keep noise reasonable late at night, pack out what you bring and leave the spot as you found it. Whistler is on the shared territory of the Squamish and Lil̓wat Nations, and we ask every guest to treat it with care.

Questions to include in your booking request

  • The address area and where on the property you'd like it
  • Your dates and how many people
  • Whether the host has approved it
  • Anything you're unsure about: access, kids, dogs, water for the plunge
